Make It Monday #152 - Take 2

Posted by Unknown at 1:17 PM 7 comments
This is my second post today with my second card for the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #152 Challenge.  For this card, I stamped on cream cardstock with Galaxy Gold pigment Ink.  I then stamped butterfly images with Royal Velvet and Stampin' Up's Wisteria Wonder dye inks.  It is hard to see in the photo, but the gold ink shows through the dye inks very well and has a little shimmery effect.

Thanks for looking!  Enjoy your day!

Yes, it's true.  We have another snow day.  We haven't been to work or school in almost a week now!!!!  Anyway, since I have not been working, I have had time to play in "my spot".  Today I am trying the technique from Papertrey's Make It Monday.

Heather showed us how to stamp layers using pigment and dye inks.  For my first card, I stamped an image from Turning a New Leaf with white pigment ink onto white cardstock.  I then stamped rose images from The Sweet Life with Scarlet Jewel and Pure Poppy dye inks.

Thanks for stopping by.

Keep Smiling!

Posted by Unknown at 1:42 PM 1 comments

There are a lot of people out there who are not happy about all of this snow we have.  Here is a little card I made to remind us to just "keep smiling".

I was inspired by the CAS(E) this Sketch #64.  Here is the sketch..

Here is my card....

Doesn't this just make you feel happy?  The dancing girl image is from The Angel Company (no longer in business).  The Keep Smiling sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp February card kit.  The patterned paper is from the card kit as well.

Thanks for stopping by.....just keep smiling!!

Fusion - Take 2

Posted by Unknown at 3:56 PM 4 comments

Love this week's Fusion Challenge so I made several cards.  Again, the challenge....

My second card...

I actually had thrown away the butterfly embossed paper and pulled it back out of the trash and turned it over to experiment on the back side.  I used a blending brushed and brushed over the embossed image with Stampin' Up Pool Party Ink.  I like how it turned out.  The patterned paper is from Simon Says Stamp February card kit.  I die cut and stamped some images from WPlus9 Fresh Cut Florals (love this set!!!).

Thanks for taking a look!

Oh...my...goodness!!!  I just love the Fusion #4 Card Challenge!!!!  Butterflies and pretty spring colors!  We have yet another snow day today and so I get to play along.  The challenge was to create a card based off of the following picture and/or sketch:

I made several cards and will be posting each one separately in order to enter each one.  Here is my first card...

The patterned paper is from my February Simon Stamps card kit.  The butterfly was cut with Papertrey Ink's butterfly die.  I embossed white paper using a metal stencil.

Papertrey Ink 7th Anniversary Day 4

Posted by Unknown at 4:47 PM 0 comments
I am having a hard time keeping up with all of the daily Papertrey Ink challenges!  I missed the day 3 challenge, but was able to make a trading card for the day 4 challenge.  We were to create a 3x4 artist trading card.  Here is what I cam up with:

It is my first attempt at a shaker card.  There is not a whole lot of room for the little elements to "shake" so the next time I make one I will double the foam adhesive layering on the back of the window to allow for more room.

I used Shutterbug Special images to create the sweet background and sentiment.  I cut the frame with Raspberry Fizz paper using the Fabulous Frames die.  The little butterflies are punched using the Martha Steward butterfly punch.

Make it Monday PTI Challenge

Posted by Unknown at 8:55 PM 4 comments
I received my new stamps today!  Just in time to create my take on Papertrey's Make it Monday challenge.  The challenge this week is positive and negative die cuts.

I just love the new Peaceful Pinecones set.   I am disappointed in my photography skills; the cards look much better in person.
