Thinking of You

Posted by Unknown at 7:51 PM 1 comments

I made this card for the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge #46.  I am going to send it to my daughter who is enjoying her first year of college.  I think of her each day and want to send her a little reminder of that.

I used a scrap of patterned paper, of which I have many, for the background.  The butterfly was cut with a Papertry Ink die on another piece of scrap.  The sentiment is also from Papertrey. So simple and easy!

Retro Sketches #81 Challenge

Posted by Unknown at 10:02 PM 1 comments

I finished my homework for tonight, so I treated myself and quickly whipped up this card for the Retro Sketches #81 Challenge.

I made it very quickly with a scrap of paper and a banner die from Simon Says Stamps.  The little border stamp is also from Simon Says.  Here is the inspiration sketch...

 Thanks for looking!  Goodnight!

I have decided to play along with some challenges.  Fusion Card Challenge is one of them.  I used old book paper and stamped with an image from Glow Girl by Hero Arts with NEON ink.  The frame die is from Papertrey Ink.  The circle and dancing figure were punched and coated with Glossy Accents.

My design is based on Fusion Card Challenge #17:

I received a nice little package in the mail today with some new Hero Arts stamps and ink.  I decided to play along with this week's CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.

The stamp set is called Glow Girl by Hero Arts and the ink is Hero Arts NEON.  So fun!

For this card we had to create an embellishment from paper clay.  Here is what I came up with:

Sweet Sugar Coated Embellishments

For this challenge we had to coat something with glitter.  I chose to die cut the word Hello.

Whipping Up Scent-sational Cards

This was my favorite technique!  We made scratch-n-sniff cards by using sugar-free Kool-Aide mixed with clear embossing powder!  So cool!

I made cute snowflakes by die cutting shrink plastic and heating them.

Mixing Mists Challenge

This was a fun challenge.  We made our own mists using alcohol and re-inkers mixed in a small spray bottle.  Here is my project:

Stain Challenge

Our next PTI Stamp-A-Fair challenge was to do a staining technique.  Rather than use the Kool-Aide packs as the dye, I decided to use my re-inkers.  Mainly because I wanted to save the Kool-Aide packs for a later challenge.  I ripped a few paper strips, crinkled them up and dipped them into the dye mixture to color.  Here is the final product.

Stamp-A-Faire 2013!

Posted by Unknown at 9:26 PM 1 comments
It is finally here!  My sister arrived this evening and our work space is all set up in my dining room.  We are ready for a day filled with creativity!  It will be a nice break from school work for me!

My son is a little upset that we are using the TV as our computer monitor!  My sister and I don't want to miss a thing!
